In the municipality of Marinha Grande, with tradition in the art of working glass, with extensive sandy beaches and magnificent beaches. We suggest the “Volta dos Sete” (Tour of the Seven) and the “Volta dos Cinco” (Tour of the Five), routes that combine sea and beach landscapes, with springs and streams among the woods of the “Pinhal de Leiria” and also visits to the Lighthouse (built in 1912) and Penedo da Saudade. Nearby, we recommend a trip to Fátima and a visit to the Batalha Monastery, ordered built by D. João I for the victory in the battle of Aljubarrota and which would eventually become one of the symbols of the consolidation of the Portuguese nation.
